So I am not sure if just writing down the current sector number and starting a new scan from that sector does the job.Ĭurrently I am using version 7.0 which I installed using the command sudo apt-get install testdisk. It seems to be possible to start a scan from any sector using the "expert mode", but it seems every time PhotoRec finds a file, it goes back and re-scans millions of sectors again (am I right?). Let's say I am over 100 hours into a scan and it needs to run for 100 more hours, but I really need to turn off Linux without losing all the progress. Is it possible to stop PhotoRec, turn computer off and on, and resume the scan again without losing all the progress? Is it possible to recover this file? generally, how can I recover bookmarks for Microsoft Edge, Firefox, and Google Chrome? Google Chrome on Windows 10 keeps its bookmarks in \AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default folder in a file with no extension.
